Protecting machines
Low temperatures and high humidity are the biggest dangers for electrical enclosures, because condensation can cause water droplets to form on sensitive electronic parts, leading to short circuits and corrosion. This may damage the equipment or result in malfunctioning.
Condensation prevention
As long as under load, heat dissipation from components will prevent any condensation build-up. When there is no longer any heat load due to system downtime and temperatures drop too low, there is a potential danger that components within the cabinet will form condensation.
Perfect combination
Control cabinet heaters are often complemented by thermostats and hygrostats. Combined, they ensure that the temperature inside the control cabinet is always correctly regulated. Drastic temperature fluctuations can cause thermal stress on electronic components.
