A milestone in industrial thermal management

Otto Pfannenberg's invention of the filterfan in 1958 was one of them. Even today, the flat profile, uni-coloured design matches modern machines and plants perfectly.

A filterfan sends cool, filtered ambient air into the interior of the electrical enclosure. At the same time, it increases the pressure slightly, which prevents dust from infiltrating into the enclosure. Fitting a filterfan to the lower third of the electrical enclosure and placing the exhaust filter as high as possible also aids natural air convection processes and avoids the build-up of heat pockets.

Continuous improvements

As a result of several years of experience and continuous further development, Pfannenberg's filterfans have features which are unrivalled. Thanks to flow optimised fins and rotor blades, the filterfans 4.0 reach a particularly high airflow and, at the same time, the IP 55 protection class.
